What are the best alternatives to Xfinity?

That depends on what reaches your address. Where fiber is available, AT&T, CenturyLink, Frontier and Kinetic (Windstream) are the strongest comparison on upload speed. Spectrum and other cable providers compete most directly on availability and download speed, and HughesNet, Viasat or Starlink cover addresses without wired service. One free call establishes which of those you can actually order.

You also compare Xfinity — should I switch at all?

Not necessarily, and we will tell you so. We do place Xfinity service, so we have no interest in pushing you off it for its own sake. Switching makes sense when another provider genuinely offers better value or upload speed at your address, or when your promotional rate has expired and there is a better offer elsewhere. Sometimes the better move is a different Xfinity plan, or renegotiating. We would rather get that right than move you for the sake of it.

What should I check before leaving Xfinity?

Whether you are inside a term agreement and what leaving early would cost, any equipment that has to be returned and the deadline for returning it, and when your current promotional pricing expires. Unreturned equipment is the most common surprise charge on a final bill. Worth also checking whether any mobile lines or bundled services are tied to the internet account.

How do I switch without a gap in service?

Get the new service installed and working before you cancel the old one. Cancelling first is what causes a gap, and a wired installation can take longer to schedule than people expect. A few days of overlap is cheaper than being offline, particularly if you work from home. We can secure an install date before you cancel anything.
