Speak to a Business Internet Specialist
Different businesses need different tradeoffs. A storefront needs reliable point-of-sale; an office needs upload headroom for cloud backup; a new location needs internet this week, not next month. Tell the specialist which one you are — they’ll check live availability at your address and quote the plans that actually fit.
Business internet FAQs
How much does business internet cost?
Advertised shared-broadband plans run from about $35/mo (5G fixed wireless) to $285/mo (multi-gig fiber). Cable business plans typically start at $60–$70/mo for 300 Mbps, and symmetrical fiber gig service runs roughly $70–$140/mo. Many providers now price by custom quote, and taxes, equipment and install fees vary by market — one call gets the exact number for your address.
What internet speed does my business need?
As a rule of thumb: point-of-sale, email and light browsing run fine on 100–300 Mbps. A team of 5–15 people on cloud apps and video calls is happier on 300–500 Mbps. If you upload large files, run backups off-site, host video or have 20+ heavy users, symmetrical gigabit fiber is worth it — upload speed matters as much as download.
What’s the difference between fiber, cable, and 5G fixed wireless?
Fiber is the gold standard: symmetrical speeds, lowest latency, most reliable, but the smallest footprint. Cable is available almost everywhere and fast downstream, with slower uploads and shared-neighborhood capacity. 5G fixed wireless installs itself in minutes with no wiring and is great for new locations or backup, but real-world speed depends on signal and network load at your address.
What is an SLA and do I need one?
A Service Level Agreement is a contractual uptime guarantee — the provider commits to availability and repair times and pays credits when it misses. Standard business broadband usually does NOT include one; dedicated internet products do. If an hour of downtime costs you real revenue (medical, finance, e-commerce, call centers), ask about dedicated service with an SLA — otherwise broadband plus a wireless backup is usually the better spend.
Can I get business fiber at my address?
Business fiber footprints are address-specific and often differ from residential coverage — the building next door can be lit while yours isn’t. We check live serviceability for your exact address on the call, across every provider we carry.
How long are typical business internet contracts?
It varies more than residential: Spectrum, AT&T Business Fiber, Frontier and T-Mobile advertise no-annual-contract plans; Comcast and Cox promo pricing usually requires a 1–2 year agreement; satellite business plans often run 24–36 months. Early-termination fees are commonly a percentage of the remaining term — ask before you sign.
Do business internet plans include static IPs?
Usually an add-on rather than included — commonly $15–$30/mo depending on provider and how many addresses you need. Cox includes one static IP with service; T-Mobile offers static IP as an upgrade on business 5G. If you host servers, VPN endpoints or cameras, price the static IP into your comparison.
How does this comparison site make money?
Providers pay HomeLinkd a commission when you order through us. You pay the provider’s advertised price — never more — and our comparisons list competing providers side by side. We are an independent comparison service and are not owned by any provider.
