Do you think it's time to start shopping for a new provider?

If you're like most people, you probably don't think too much about your TV or internet service providers. You might be happy with your internet connection – or you might not be and looking for a new service provider.

But in either case, it's not something you spend a lot of time thinking about. However, there are some very good reasons to upgrade your current service provider, and we'll take a look at some of the benefits of doing so. So, whether you're using the internet to browse, game online, or just enjoy Netflix, let us give you some of the best reasons to upgrade to a new service.

Upgrading your service provider can have a lot of benefits, including:

1. Faster internet speeds

One of the most common reasons consumers upgrade their service (or network) is for faster internet speeds. Technology is constantly improving, and new methods for delivering high-speed internet are being developed all the time. If you're looking to improve your browsing experience, streaming quality, or gaming performance, upgrading to a higher speed tier can make a big difference.

2. You could save more money on fees

Believe it or not, some service providers are more expensive than others. Sure, the price you pay for your internet connection might not seem like a big deal, but over time those little fees can add up. If you're looking to save money on your TV and internet bill, upgrading to a new service provider that possibly offers great bundle deals could be a good way to do it.

3. Less lag during streaming and online gaming

If you do a lot of streaming or online gaming, you know how important it is to have a low-latency connection. That means there's less lag between what's happening on your screen and what's happening in the game or the video you're watching. If you're sick of dealing with lag, upgrading to a new service provider could greatly improve your upload and download speeds.

4. Access to more features

Some service providers offer more features than others. For example, some might offer DVR services, while others might not. If you're looking for more features from your TV and internet service, upgrading to a new provider could be the way to go.

5. Access to more channels and streaming services

Along the same lines as more features, some service providers also offer more channels and streaming services. If you're looking for more content to watch, upgrading your service could give you access to what you're looking for.

These are just a few of the benefits of upgrading your TV and internet service provider. So if you're thinking about it, now might be the time to do it. You could see a big difference in your browsing, streaming, and gaming experiences. And who knows, you might even save some money in the process.

Our top tips to consider when choosing a new internet and TV provider

With so many choices out there, how do you know which one is right for you? Here are our top tips to consider when choosing a new internet and TV provider:

1. Consider your budget

One of the first things you should consider is your budget.

How much are you willing to spend on your TV and internet service? There are a lot of choices out there, so it's important to have a number in mind before you start shopping around. Sometimes the cheapest deal might give you a  slower speed, like 5 Mbps – which may also not be enough for you. You'll need to look for a deal that meets your budget and is fast enough to meet your internet requirements.

2. What are your needs?

Another important thing to consider is what you need from your TV and internet service. Are you looking for fast speeds? A lot of channels? DVR services? Do you want a fast wireless upload speed? Do you want a wi-fi signal that allows you to stay connected to the internet even when you're at the furthest point in your home? Once you know what you need, you can narrow down your choices and find the perfect provider.

3. What's available in your area?

Not all service providers are available in all areas. So before you choose a provider, make sure they offer services where you live.

Likewise, not all connection types could also be available in your area. While satellite is the widest available connection, it's not the fastest. The same goes for DSL. Cable is also widely available but is not as fast as a fiber connection regarding Mbps and download speeds. The latter are not readily available in remote or certain rural areas.  Check with your local ISP to see what internet plans are on offer.

4. Compare prices

Once you know what you need and what's available in your area, it's time to compare prices. This is where things can get a little tricky because there are many different pricing structures.

But if you take the time to compare, you should be able to find a great deal on the perfect TV and internet service for you. Some providers also offer introductory offers or free installation that can save you dozens or hundreds of dollars in the long run.

Note: Your routers and modems, which are needed to connect your computer or device for internet usage, are more often than not rented from your provider. To decrease your monthly bill, you might want to look at purchasing your own equipment to help you get a cheaper deal.

These are just a few of the things to consider when choosing a new TV and internet service provider. If you keep these things in mind, you should be able to find the perfect provider for your needs.

How to stop buffering when streaming live TV or on-demand content

If you're like most people, you probably hate it when your TV or movie starts buffering. That little loading icon can be so frustrating, especially when you're trying to watch something live. But don't worry. You can do a few things to reduce the amount of buffering you experience.

1. Check your internet connection

The first thing you should do if your TV or movie is buffering is to check your internet connection. Make sure you have a strong signal and that there isn't anything else using up your bandwidth. If everything looks good on your end, move on to step two.

2. Check your streaming service's app or website

The next thing you should do is check your streaming service's app or website. There might be an update pending that's causing the buffering. If there is, update to the latest version and try again.

3. Check your TV or device settings

Followed by the previous step is to check your TV or device settings. There might be a setting that's causing the buffering. For example, some TVs have a "Motion Flow" setting that can cause buffering if turned on. If you're unsure what to do, check your TV or device manual for more information.

4. Contact your streaming service provider

If you've tried all of the above and you're still experiencing buffering, the next step is to contact the customer support of your streaming service provider. They might be able to help you troubleshoot the problem or offer some advice.

5. Restart your router or modem

Sometimes all it takes is restarting one of your devices to get good internet again (we know tech can be a bit confusing).

These are just a few of the things you can do to reduce buffering when streaming live TV or on-demand content.
