6. Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story (Netflix)

Dear reader, the already loved Bridgerton spin-off series, Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story has been on Netflix for a few months now – and it tells a harrowing love story.

In this edition of the show, set in an alternate universe where 19th-century Britain embraced multiculturalism and married outside their race – this new series follows a young Queen Charlotte (India Amarteifio) as she is arranged to marry King George III (Corey Mylchreest) whom she ultimately develops feelings for but soon discovers he is battling a serious mental health issue.

As the pair fall in love, they're left battling against societal attitudes in the Ton as well as George's personal issues, making for an emotional rollercoaster of a show.

Produced by Netflix and Shonda Rhimes’s Shondaland – the woman who gave us Meredith Grey and Olivia Pope, has taken the reins as showrunner, executive producer, and writer. 

7. Yellowjackets (Showtime, Season 1 - 2)

A psychological horror meets coming-of-age drama.  

In 1996, a girls’ high school soccer team crash-lands in the Canadian wilderness while flying to a soccer tournament. 

Yellowjackets follows the survivors across two timelines, taking us through their attempts to stay alive in the woods for 19 months and exploring what their lives are like in present-day. But don’t think that you can predict how this story ends just because the latter timeline reveals they made it… or some of them, at least.

You’ll have to watch to find out how this storyline unfolds.

Yellowjackets has been nominated for seven Emmys. This breakout hit, sees Melanie Lynskey and Christina Ricci return in their Emmy-nominated roles as Shauna and Misty. Alongside them are Oscar nominee, Juliette Lewis, starring as Natalie and multi-award-winner Tawny Cypress as Taissa.

8. The Mandolarian (Disney+, Season 1 - 3)

"The Mandalorian" is a captivating series set in the Star Wars universe, taking place five years after the events of "Return of the Jedi".
